What is JetBackup?
JetBackup is a powerful, automated backup and recovery tool integrated directly into your hosting control panel. It silently takes routine snapshots of your entire hosting environment. If anything goes wrong, you can "roll back the clock" and restore your site to working order with just a few clicks.
Key Features of JetBackup
Regardless of whether you are on the CH1, CH2, or CH3 plan, you have full access to these recovery options:
Full Account Restores: Revert your entire hosting account (files, databases, emails, and settings) to a previous date.
Granular File Recovery: Dig into your backups to download or restore a single accidentally deleted file or folder (like a specific image or
wp-config.php).Database Rollbacks: Instantly restore a corrupted MySQL database without affecting your website's physical files.
DNS & Cron Job Restores: Restore your domain records or background task schedules after accidental changes.
How to Access JetBackup
You do not need to contact support to initiate a restore; you have full control right from your dashboard.
Log in to your DirectAdmin control panel.
Scroll down to the Extra Features section.
Click on the JetBackup 5 icon.
How to Restore Your Data
Once inside the JetBackup dashboard, you will see a clean interface outlining your available backups.
To Restore a Full Account or Database:
Click on Full Backups (for the entire account) or Databases (for just the database).
Browse the list of available dates and times.
Select the snapshot you want to revert to.
Click the Restore button.
Note: JetBackup will place the restore task in a queue. You can monitor the progress from the JetBackup dashboard.
To Restore Specific Files:
Click on File Backups or Home Directory.
Choose the backup date you want to pull files from.
Click File Manager next to that date.
Navigate through your directories (e.g.,
domains/yourdomain.com/public_html/) and check the boxes next to the specific files or folders you need.Click Restore Selected to overwrite the current live files, or Download Selected to save a copy to your local computer.
