Is it possible to host a subdomain (name.yourdomain.com) at Laughing Squid?

Managed WordPress

Subdomains can be hosted in our Managed WordPress environment in two ways:

1. Subdomain Content Hosted with Laughing Squid: If we host the subdomain's content on our servers, pricing and features would be based on the hosting plan you choose. 
2. Subdomain Content Hosted on an outside server: If the subdomain's content will be hosted on an outside server, you will need to request that we add the appropriate DNS record to point to your subdomain's DNS entries. There is no charge for this type of subdomain setup.

Legacy Cloud Sites

To host a subdomain on Cloud Sites, we also need to host the top-level domain name. The cost to host a subdomain will depend on the type of setup you need:

1. Subdomain Content Hosted with Laughing Squid: If we host the subdomain's content on our servers, pricing and features would be based on the hosting plan you choose. Since you will already own the primary domain, you would not need to pay a domain registration fee for the subdomain.
2. Subdomain Content Hosted on an outside server: If the subdomain's content will be hosted on an outside server, you will need to request that we add the appropriate record to your DNS entries. There is no charge for this type of subdomain setup.

Another option would be to set up a sub-directory, ie. domain.com/subdirectory/. You can set up unlimited sub-directories, and there are no extra charges to do this.

Cloud Hosting

We can host a subdomain under Cloud Hosting in two ways:

1. Subdomain Content Hosted with Laughing Squid: If we host the subdomain's content on our servers, pricing and features would be based on the hosting plan you choose. 
2. Subdomain Content Hosted on an outside server: If the subdomain's content will be hosted on an outside server, you will need to request that we add the appropriate record to your DNS entries. There is no charge for this type of subdomain setup.
